On Saturday I found myself in Toronto for the CNE, along with my family and a DSLR with a zoom lens. The Toronto International Airshow is one of the longest running events in Canada and draws a serious crowd all weekend long. I only just managed to get through the photos I collected so here is a selection of them. All were taken with a Canon T3i and 100-300 mm zoom.

Rather than mark the individual performers, here’s a general list: Lucas Oil Pitts biplane, “Super” Dave Mathison and the MX2, US F16 Viper, RCAF CF-18, Sea King helicopter and that legendary Canadian demo team, the Snowbirds.

Pick your favourite!

I wonder if that’s one of the P-51s I see here state-side. The pool of flying P-51s in Canadian ownership isn’t exactly huge, and P-51s regularly use the regional airport near my house as both bases for airshows and layover points for transit.

Generally at least one of those performers flies across the lake for the Cleveland air show the same weekend. I completely forgot that it was happening last weekend until I saw your post.

Those are some sweet heritage flight shots.
